Service description
Our holiday camps run during spring break, summer and winter break, offering a full day of structured tennis, games and athletic activities. Campers are grouped by age and ability. The camp day runs from 9:00 to 15:30 and includes a supervised lunch break. Camps are a popular way for new players to try the sport and for existing players to add court hours.

Who the camps are designed for
Camps welcome juniors aged 7 to 16, from players who have never held a racquet to those already competing in regional events. First-time players are placed in a beginner group where the emphasis is on fun, coordination and basic rally skills — there is no expectation of prior experience, only a willingness to try.
For players already training regularly, camps are a concentrated way to add court hours, work on match play and compete against peers of a similar level. The age- and ability-grouped format means every camper is challenged at the right level rather than held back or overwhelmed.

How a camp day runs
The camp day runs from 9:00 to 15:30. Sessions are grouped by age and ability, and the programme moves through technical drills, games-based learning and match play across the day. The structure keeps campers active and engaged without turning the day into a grind — variety is built in deliberately.
A supervised lunch break sits in the middle of the day. Campers bring their own packed lunch; lunch is not provided. At the end of each day, parents receive a daily activity summary so they know exactly what their child worked on and how the day went.
- 03
What the week builds toward
Each camp runs across five consecutive days, giving coaches enough time to introduce skills on day one and see them applied in real match situations by the end of the week. The progression is intentional: early days focus on technique and drill repetition, later days shift toward point play and competitive formats.
The week closes with a mini-tournament that every camper participates in, with recognition for all players. It is not about producing a single winner — it is about giving every junior the experience of competing in a structured format and finishing the week with something to be proud of.
- 04
What to bring each day
Campers should arrive in athletic clothing with a hat and sunscreen applied. A filled water bottle and a packed lunch are essential every day. Racquets can be borrowed for the week at no extra charge, so families do not need to purchase equipment before trying the sport.
For families who want to drop off early or collect late, supervised early drop-off is available from 8:30 and late pickup until 16:30 for an additional fee. Please ask about this option when registering so we can confirm availability and arrange it in advance.

Camp dates and pricing
Camps run during spring break, summer and winter break. The spring break and winter break camp weeks are priced at CAD 295 per five-day week; the summer camp week is CAD 310. All prices are per camper for the full five-day block.
Spots fill quickly, particularly for summer weeks, because camps draw from families across Red Deer and the surrounding area. Early registration is the best way to secure your preferred week. When you register, let us know your child's age, any prior tennis experience and whether you need early drop-off or late pickup.

A court that belongs to this community
GM Tenis Academy coaches know Red Deer — the schools, the neighbourhoods, the families who have been part of this community for generations. That familiarity shapes how camps are run: communication is direct, the environment is welcoming, and every junior is treated as an individual rather than a number on a register.
For many Red Deer juniors, a holiday camp is where the game begins — the first time they stand behind a baseline and hit a ball back over the net. We take that first experience seriously, because the players who return season after season almost always trace it back to a week that felt worth returning to.

How getting started works
- 1
Initial conversation
Tell us about your goals, experience level and schedule. We listen first and then recommend the programme or combination that makes the most sense for you.
- 2
Court assessment
New players complete a short on-court assessment so we can place you in the right group or design the right private plan. No pressure — it is an information-gathering session, not a test.
- 3
Programme enrolment
We confirm your place in the chosen programme, agree on the schedule and complete registration. You receive a welcome email with everything you need before your first session.
- 4
Training begins
Your first session sets the tone: coaches introduce the block's goals, establish group norms and begin skill work. Parents of juniors are welcome to watch from the designated viewing area.
- 5
Progress review
At the end of each block, players receive a written progress report and a brief coach conversation. We discuss what was achieved, what comes next and whether a programme adjustment is needed.
